What is Alignment-Based Yoga?

I practice and teach alignment-based yoga, which to me is two-fold: 1) classes are structured and poses are explained to balance strengthening and stretching within everyone’s individual anatomy, and 2) classes also incorporate moments to align the body, mind, and spirit.

I currently teach regularly at the Hope Valley Farms YMCA in Durham, and for staff members at two Durham-based non-profits- the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Center for Child and Family Health.

I love helping both individuals and organizations who work in emotionally difficult fields develop mindfulness and other self-care practices that make their lives and work more balanced and in alignment.
